How to Stay Organized
I know that getting organized is not always the tricky part. The difficult thing is staying organized over time. I personally try on different things before I pick the perfect outfit every day and then when I get home at night I tend to dump my stuff on my desk and floor. After a few days, all of the organization I had accomplished is gone. So here are a few tips I found to help keep me on track.
1. Put things away when you are done with them. My mom used to tell me to do this all the time and I never listened to this wonderful advice until now. It helps make sure you are keeping up with things. I don't know about you, but after a long day, the last thing I want to do when I come home is re-organize and clean up where I did my hair and makeup. If only I had just put it back when I finished...
2. Make sure all laundry is done before you go to bed. I am NOTORIOUS for just putting the pile of clean clothes on my bed thinking that I will get to them, then pushing them onto the floor at night because I am to tired to put them away. After a couple of days, I would realize I had a mix of dirty, clean, and unknown clothes all over my floor and it became a bigger task than it should have been. Just make sure you put everything away before you go to bed and put dirty clothes in the hamper so that you don't have a pile to deal with later.
3. Schedule days to do different tasks. I try to strip and make my bed on Tuesdays and then vacuum on Fridays. if you assign cleaning tasks to different days and stick with it, you will cover everything you need to get done.
Hopefully these help you stay organized! :)

Cute 4th of July Accessory
I very rarely buy articles of clothing, however, accessories are my weakness. My philosophy has always been to buy simple shirts that I can wear with anything and then I use accessories to spice it up. A necklace or scarf is much cheaper than a new shirt! So I am always on the look out for cute ideas. I saw this one on Etsy and thought it was cute with 4th of July coming up.
On Etsy, it is listed for $20.00. As a frugal person, I cringe thinking about spending that much on a bracelet! So my plan for achieving this adorable look for less is to search local thrift stores, garage sales, and Walmart. The key is finding a bunch of individual bracelets and then combining them to create this super cute look!

Why Care About Your Finances?
Many people, especially young adults, when told they need to become financially responsible respond with, "I'm young, I have time before I need to do that." The reality is, you are never to young to become financially responsible! But why should you care about becoming responsible? I mean it's not always the most fun. Well did you know that the Bible mentions money over 800 times? Generally the rule is that the more something is mentioned, the more you should pay attention to it. A few of the verses mentioning money are:
- Proverbs 21:20- In the house of the wise are stores of choice food and oil, but a foolish man devours all he has.
- Luke 14:28- For which of you, intending to build a tower, does not sit down first and count the cost, whether he has enough to finish it.
- Luke 12:33- Sell your possessions and give to the poor. Provide purses for yourselves that will not wear out, a treasure in heaven that will never fail, where no thief comes near and no moth destroys.
Also, becoming financially responsible can help reduce the stress in your life, which in turn can benefit your health.
I would like to leave you with this quote that I found helpful,
A big part of being strong financially is that you know where you are weak and take action to make sure you don’t fall prey to the weakness. And we ALL are weak.— Dave Ramsey, Total Money Makeover

Book of the Month- The Total Money Makeover!
Every month I will post the "Book of The Month". This month the book I recommend is called, "The Total Money Makeover" by Dave Ramsey. I am currently working on it and there is so much information in there about becoming financially responsible. Here is the link to his website. http://www.daveramsey.com/store/prodtmmoclassic.html?ictid=glp2.tandrright1_pub
The Point of This Blog
Credit cards, student loans, checking and saving accounts, house and car payments, and investing. These are just a few financial aspects that most people my age have little knowledge of. I was blessed to have parents who made sure that I had most of this knowledge as I was growing up. However, even with this knowledge, I have had a difficult time becoming financially responsible. I have slowly worked on becoming more frugal and therefore discovering different ways to save money. As a college student, it's necessary. So the purpose of this blog is to share what I have found to be successful in saving money as well as becoming organized. Hopefully you can use some of these ideas!
